How to take a sample at home

IB Biotech is doing genetic custom-made, so you can “know yourself”. It gives you the opportunity to know your genetic inheritance ina private, inexpensive and easy way from the confort of your home.

The procedure to follow is easy and convenient:

You would need to request a genetic test from the section request a test and a personalize kit.

After we received your request, we will send you the sample taking kit to the address you requested us. You will find on your kit the following:

  • • A cotton-wool tipfor the genetic sample taking inside a protective case. In case the analisys is need for more than one person (for example for a paternity test) you will find the number of cotton-wool tip requested.
  • • Requesting form for sending the sample.
  • • Consent.
  • • Instructions for the sample taking.
  • • An Envelope to send the sample.

You will need to follow the steps indicated so the samples will be taking correctly.

The sample has to be taken before eating or drinking, or one hour after eating or drinking:

1.- With your hands clean, remove the case lid where you will find the cotton-wool tip for the genetic sample taking. Please reserve the protective case. You will find an identifying label in which you will need to write the name of the person taking the sample.








2.- Introduce the cotton-wool tip in the mouth and with the cotton end rub vigorously inside the cheeck several times (aproximately 60 seconds). This way the cells on the saliva will attach to the the cotton.









3.- Your will need to leave to dry at least for 5 minutes. Once the cotton is dry, you will need to introduce it in the case where you found it. Please make sure the case is properly close.










4.- If is required to take samples for more than one person, for example for a paternity test, repeat the trancsation with the rest of the people involved with the other cotton-wool tips you will find in your kit.

5.- Please fill in the information of the request form and the consent.

6.- Please introduce the filled in documents (request form and consent) with the sample previously taken and place in the protective case, in the envelope you will find in your kit.

7.- Please send the envelope to our address writen on it. Please send it as soon as possible to avoid the sample getting damage.

From the link client access, IB BIOTECH will allow you, without any additional cost, to introduce your personal user number y password given to you when you request the kit, this way you will know at real time the sending, the progress and the condition of the sample requested, the analisys and result process, as well as the history of any previous test taken.
