The karyotype consist in the visulization of an individual chomosomes in metaphase. It make possible the determination of numeric or estructural abnormalities in the chromosomic resources. For this reason a metaphases analisys is done through the GTL bands from the periferic blood culturing.

There is a great evidence of chromosomic alterations in patients with altered menstrual cycles or low ovaric reserve (i.e.: Turner Syndrome) and also in couples with repeated miscarriages and implantation failure.
